Where to rest in the Old Town of Gdansk?

Where to rest in the Old Town of Gdansk?
After an exhausting history lesson, you deserve a cup of strong coffee.

In the Old Town, we have a huge selection of various cafes. It’s impossible to show them all, that’s why I chose the ones that somehow caught my attention.

* I did not include places such as Starbucks or Costa Coffee, because they are chains and they do not contribute to building the Tri-City vibes.

It’s time for dinner. Fortunately, I know a place that will satisfy the most demanding clientele:

For those less picky I will also find something 🙂

What is Russian cuisine famous for?

Brine – thick, cooked on strong broth from meat, fish or mushrooms, acidified with kvass, pickled cucumbers, lemon juice or marinated capers. It is seasoned with sour cream, chopped herbs are added, among others parsley, dill, chives.

Ravioli – dense, from several species of fish, root vegetables and onions, and spices (pepper, allspice). After cooking, the decoction strains and cooks larger pieces of fish in it. Served with dill and lemon slices.

Szczi – cabbage soup (from sweet or more often sauerkraut) cooked on meat, fish or mushroom stock, with leaf vegetables such as sorrel, spinach, nettle. Seasoned with sour cream, sometimes tomatoes are added. Pies are served with buckwheat or loose-boiled porridge.

Rosolnik – a soup made from pickled cucumbers and offal made from broth.

Pancakes – pancakes made of buckwheat flour, butter, yeast and milk. They are served with caviar, chopped herring, melted butter and cream.

Pielmieni – small dumplings stuffed with ground raw beef and pork with spices (onion, pepper, savory, lovage). They are washed in vinegar and cream, served in separate bowls.

A place that deserves special attention is where except dinner we can find collectible T-shirts.
There are currently 183 Hard Rock Cafe restaurants in over 59 countries, including four in Poland.

Hard Rock is more known for its atmosphere than for food. Restaurants not only apply for musical souvenirs, but also buy them at auctions around the world. Hard Rock has the largest collection of such items in the world

Go to the Christmas Market for snacks and decorations.

The distinguishing feature of the Gdańsk fair is sharing with those in need. The fair is accompanied by a charity action for the Hospice Foundation and a collection to rescue the recently closed St. Nicholas Basilica, which is threatened by a construction disaster.

I suggest to go to one of the nearby pubs with friends in the evening.

Bar Wiśniewski is the first restaurant of this type in the Tri-City. It serves only one alcohol – cherry liqueur.

The owners decided that one time guests can order 100 ml of 16% cherry cherry for PLN 11 or a whole bottle for PLN 79. There are no more items on the menu.

Where did the idea for the place come from?

Last of all – the most important attraction of the main street of Gdańsk
