Fountains in Gdansk

Gdansk is a tourist city. We have a lot of beautiful fountains. Here are some of them:

Neptune’s Fountain

Beautiful historic fountain from the 17th century. Located in the centre of Gdansk, at the Long Market. Cast from bronze.

Jaśkowa Dolina Fountain

Built in the beginning of the 20th century. The fountain consists of concrete and travertine. Adorned with cupids, seashells and flowers. It’s located near the Manhattan shopping mall.

Grenadiers’ Fountain

A modest fountain made in 1933. Located near the city centre, next to the National Museum. Built of travertine and stone slabs.

Szeroka Fountain

Built in the second half of the 20th century. Placed on a square by Szeroka street. It is made of 3 boulders in a shallow tank.

Bremen Fountain

A copy of the famous 19th-century bremen fountain built by the late 20th century. Cast from bronze and adorned with brass elements.

Grass’s Fountain

A fountain put into operation in 2002. Located in Wrzeszcz Dolny. In the centre of a large tank there is a figurine of a character of one of Gunther Grass’s books, Tulia Pokriefke.

Hevelius Fountain

A fountain on Hevelius Square lit with colourful projectors. It’s amongst Gdansk’s newest fountains – it was opened in 2014. It operates according to a time sequence divided into five parts.

Mokra Fosa Fountain

Situated in Grodzisko park. It has been operating since 2014 and it’s also used for aeration of water. It has a form of a “volcano”.
